Thats right....Black Eyed Peas....
And Beyonce...and Justin Timberlake....
Basically my entire iPod play lists....
That is the ONLY WAY I got thru the miles, and miles, and miles of farms and wind today! Seriously.
Everyone took the support van today....
It was too hot and too windy for any of us to finish (only a few of us made it the furthest...67 miles of the planned 87 miles).
We had temperatures in the low 90s....It was tempting to jump off the bridge and into the Iroquois River.....
It was actually kind of a fun ride for me. I basically rode alone the entire day....
But, I was rockin out with my iPod almost the entire 67 miles...
On the backroads we traveled today, there were more tractors than cars...and the farmers aren't exactly texting while they're driving their tractors so, it's pretty safe to listen to an iPod. It really worked for me today - helped me settle in and enjoy the long warm, windy miles. I saw some beautiful farms, lots of beautiful horses grazing, vintage trailers along the Iraquois River and saw lots of stuff growing in the SUN!
I'm now in Watseka, Illinois. We're on the central eastern border ...about 20 miles from Indiana. Tomorrow, we'll ride 96 miles to Logansport, Indiana. That's a lot of miles...I'm taking Michael J, Mary J and others with Me tomorrow for sure!
A few photos from today.....
More wind fields (the farmers are getting smart and developing other revenue streams...they lease their land to the Power companies running these....)
So many of the roads are lined with these 'weeds'....apparently these are a real nuisance to the farmers.....we sure enjoy them....
The "Locals" sun bathing and taking a dip.....(I was so tempted to join them!)

Oh dude...
ReplyDeleteCorn, Wheat and Beans? Never heard of them. What kind of music do they play?
ReplyDeleteThey don't just "plant" windmills anywhere and it can only mean one thing when you see them.
Here's a windmill tip for you. If it's turning counter clock-wise, you're going the wrong way.
Wishing you lots of ez knee conditions.
Boy, what a different "America" than the one
ReplyDeleteI've lived in. All I ever see is cement, cars
